In this week's blog, I'm going to be discussing what exactly the inseam length is and why it’s so important to know yours.
As a petite woman (5'2"), I know how hard it can be to find pants, dresses and clothing that fit me just right. It can be even harder to know whether clothing will fit when shopping online. Learning my inseam length really helped me ensure that clothing would fit me perfectly!
What is an inseam length?
This is the measurement of the length of a pair of pants (or jumpsuit as seen in my video tutorial) from the top of the middle of the inner leg seam (the crotch region) to the bottom of the pants/inner leg seam.
Why is this important?
This is a measurement that will help you find pants that fit perfectly! You want to ensure that your pants are neither too long nor too short, but just right.
So, how do you measure your inseam length?
You can do this in a couple of ways, but I find an easy and accurate way to be using a pair of pants that fits you well. Lay your pants of choice on a flat surface, and measure the distance from the inner leg seam (crotch region) to the bottom of the inner leg of the pants. That length will be your inseam (Typically measured in inches in the U.S.).
For reference, I am 5'2" and my ideal inseam is 27-28 inches. However, not everyone who is my height will have the same inseam length as me. For example, women have different body proportions, so someone with relatively longer legs or a longer torso may vary in their ideal inseam lengths. This is why I highly recommend that petite ladies measure theirs to achieve a perfect fit with their clothing customized to their unique bodies!
In addition to several size options, DIIMA Apparel offers three specific inseam lengths for average height to petite women to help you find stylish, affordable clothing that fits and helps you feel beautiful.
