Everything you need to know about New York Fashion Week September 2023: from the designers, to the trends, and some of our favorite petite celebrity outfits this season.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with New York Fashion Week (NYFW), it’s a bi-annual series of events held in New York City in February and September each year to showcase upcoming fashion trends and esteemed designers’ creations from around the world. It is also part of Fashion Month, in which Fashion Weeks also take place in London, Milan, and Paris, the major fashion capitals of the world. NYFW typically spans 7-9 days, attracting thousands of visitors with hundreds of shows during this period each year.
Well known designers this year included Tory Burch, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. NYFW is also an opportunity for new, emerging designers to make their debuts at the shows. This year’s events showcased several trends to look forward to in 2024. Color schemes that appear to be favored are shades of red, along with all white suits, and we are seeing the return of flat shoes like ballet flats and Mary Janes. We are also seeing a continuation of trends like sheers and leather pieces. Many celebrities were spotted incorporating these trends into their outfits during NYFW - many of whom are petite.
