Miami Swim Week 2024

Miami Swim Week 2024

Miami Swim Week is the largest swimwear festival globally, drawing designers and brands from around the world to showcase their latest collections. Here’s everything you need to know about Miami Swim Week 2024, from the designers, to the shows, events, activities, and more.

Miami Swim Week 2024 took place from May 29 - June 3. Miami Swim Week is the biggest swimwear festival in the world, with a plethora of runway shows and events to choose from and experience. Not only is it an opportunity for established brands as well as emerging talents to showcase their work, but it is also an amazing opportunity for locals and tourists alike to attend fashion shows, networking events, pop up shops, and more during the weeklong celebration.

Some of the designers and brands present this year included Mars the Label, Banana Moon, Moda Minx and many more. This year’s event had a $75 million economic impact through hotels, restaurants and other businesses.

While some events are ticketed or more exclusive, many events are free and open to the public. I was able to attend multiple events this year, including those hosted by Official Miami Swim Week - The Shows, Fashion Week Haus, and Marine & Beth Swimwear.

The Shows held free events at SLS South Beach throughout Miami Swim Week. On Thursday, May 30, I attended “Splash” by Miami Swim Week, an event combining fashion, beauty, shopping, and networking at the iconic SLS South Beach Hotel. This was a great way to kick off the festival as I got to meet people in the industry while also experiencing the vibrant energy surrounding Miami Swim Week. I returned to SLS South Beach on Friday afternoon, where The Shows hosted another event that was open to the public.

I also got the opportunity to attend Fashion Week Haus’ runway show on June 1 in Miami Beach, where designers and brands showcased trendy, unique swimwear, resort wear and streetwear collections. The pieces featured in the show included mini and maxi dresses, two and three piece resort wear sets, and a variety of swimwear ranging from classic two piece sets to more intricate designs with different textures and asymmetrical features.

The last event I attended for Miami Swim Week was the Marine & Beth Swimwear show on Sunday, June 2. The show featured swimwear and resort wear including skirts, dresses, and sets with bright colors and bold patterns that were perfectly fitting for summer.

Some of the most prevalent fashion trends I noticed included flowy maxi dresses and skirts, cover up skirts, scarves and sarongs, and boho style mesh pieces, including dresses, skirts and scarves. Color trends included vibrant hues and patterns, as well as white, red, and pastel shades. Occasional darker colors and earth tones were also seen.

For those wondering what to wear for Miami Swim Week, events and shows often embrace a tropical, vacation-like feel (we are in Miami, after all). The events I attended did not have a specified dress code. That being said, guests’ outfits typically ranged from resort wear to semi-formal attire. I opted for elegant, chic outfits that could be considered somewhere in between upscale resort wear and semi-formal attire.

Some of my favorite pieces I wore included my petite blue and gold marble wide leg pants with a solid colored top, my petite wrap maxi dress, and my long sleeve black mock neck bodycon mini dress

This is one of my favorite outfit pictures from the weekend, taken at the Miami Swim Week event at SLS South Beach, hosted by Miami Swim Week - The Shows. This outfit features our Petite Wrap Maxi Dress, paired with gold accessories and heels. This elegant, chic wrap maxi dress was perfect to wear to a fashion event with a tropical summer feel. One petite fashion tip that I incorporated into this outfit was wearing shoes that closely matched my skin tone, which helps elongate the legs and create a streamlined appearance.

From seeing the shows, to discovering the latest trends, experiencing events, meeting new people and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Miami Swim Week.
